I'VE BEEN TAGGED

I've been tagged. So here is how it works. You go to your fourth folder in my pictures and then go to the fourth picture...post it and write some thing about it. I don't have very many friends that have blogs...so I tag my friend, Lynette. When I went to my fourth folder I only had three pictures so I'm going to post the third picture and tell you about it. This picture is actually a really special picture. It was taken at Adam-ondi-ahman on a trip that we took in July 2005. What a spiritual and great trip that was. We took this picture because we were wondering if it was the altar that Adam built after he and Eve were taken out of the Garden of Eden..

A COUPLE OF PICTURES FROM STEVE'S PARTY

STEVE'S 60TH SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY

I had such a great time planning Steve's 60th Surprise Birthday Party! And he really was surprised!! I already mentioned in my previous post that Stephanie, Greg and kids came a couple of days before his birthday, but didn't actually surprise him until the day of his birthday. We met at Applebee's where they surprised him---he was delighted to see them! I had a lot of help from my kids with the party and I really appreciated it! On the day of his party the weather actually cooperated with us and the guys took Steve golfing in the morning and then that night Scott & Christine had the party at their home. When we arrived I had arranged a Scottish piper to be out front playing. We had dinner, played a couple of games and I had also arranged for a couple of Highland dancers. It was a lot of fun to get together with family and friends! Hope you enjoy some of the pictures we took.

MORE ABOUT MY WELCOME TO CA!

I didn't get to take a picture of Scott, Christine and the girls the night I arrived, so I took a couple of pictures a few days later. Christine doesn't usually wear glasses but she had eye surgery about a month after I arrived so she couldn't wear her contacts.

WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA!

Well I finally got my pictures downloaded from my camera, so I thought I would go back to the middle of January when I left Utah. Below is a picture of what our yard looked liked when I left (Steve was curious about how much snow we still had in our yard). And also a picture of our granddaughter, Karianne waiting at the front door to take me to the airport. I miss you, Karianne! :-( I also miss Kyle, Kayla & Kameron! And of course Stephanie & Greg!! But we got to see them about five weeks later when they surprised Steve by coming to California for his 60th birthday party! I'll write about it in another post. It was such a great surprise and we appreciated them coming! Thank you for coming...it meant a lot!!

When I arrived in California Scott, Christine, Carissa and Maia surprised me by putting a saying on the rug at our front door. The picture of it is below. Then they surprised me by also being at the condo! It was fun to see them and such a warm welcome! Thank You!! :-)

My first posting!!

My daughter's, Stephanie, Stacie and Christine thought that I should create a blog so a couple of weeks ago with their help I started a blog. So here goes with my first posting! I'm so new at all of this that I almost chose the font Webdings but then I realized you might not be able to read it! LOL! So I changed it to Georgia!

Lately I've been thinking about what I'm grateful for. Life definately gives us challenges, but we have so much to be grateful for and I know I need to focus more on the positive in my life! I'm so grateful for the Gospel in my life; I don't know where I would be with out it! Next I'm grateful for a wonderful husband---we've been married almost 38 years!! Can't believe it! Steve is a wonderful, kind, compassionate person! Then I think about our three wonderful children and the three great mates that they are married to! And they have blessed us with eight beautiful grandchildren---that have touched our lives with joy and happiness! I feel so blessed! My family means soooo much to me!

A couple of weeks ago Steve turned 60, so we had a surprise birthday party for him that the theme was Scottish! It was a lot of fun planning and preparing for his party! Stephanie, Greg and kids came from Utah and surprised him Friday night, then the guys took Steve golfing Saturday and the surpirse party was Saturday night. We had a bagpiper, Highland dancers, a Scottish trivia game and a game about Steve! It was a lot of fun to get together with family and friends!

So for now I think this is the end of my first posting, but as I end this I wanted to share a thought. I've been reading a book by Jeffrey R. Holland -- Broken Things to Mend and one of his quotes is as follows: No earlier people down through the gospel ages---including our own parents, in many cases---have had anywhere near the blessings that you and I have been given.
